Former Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Peter Ameh, has stated that Northern Nigeria has rejected President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Naija News reports that Ameh, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, asserted that the next election will be challenging for Tinubu, considering the current situation of the economy.
According to him, Tinubu’s government are struggling to give appointments to the North because they are aware that the region is not happy with the administration.
Ameh, who claimed that many Northerners are backing the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, also alleged that many irregularities happened in the 2023 election.
He said, “The economy is stagnated, so this is part of the challenges that Tinubu will have going to the next election. He has been rejected by the North and the Nigerian masses.
“He lost in FCT and Lagos in full scale and that will not change because he has not done anything. Going to the next election is not going to be easy for Tinubu, that is why he is struggling to give appointments, trying to catch up because they [Tinubu’s Govt] know the people are not happy. Even the Chief of Staff (Femi Gbajabiamila) is holding meetings with the northern House of Representatives.
“The available data in the north today favours Peter Obi. During the 2023 election, in the North central, Bauchi, Kano, people were not allow to vote free, the videos are out there but this time around it is going to be different. We are aware of the manipulation they did to undermine voters, and this time we are going to put a mechanism in place to defend the popularity that Peter Obi has.”
