Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star, Phyna, has expressed displeasure with the statement by the Dangote Group regarding the road accident in Auchi, Edo State, which involved one of its trucks and left her sister, Ruth Otabor, seriously injured.
Naija News reports that the victim, who had graduated less than a week earlier, lost one leg to amputation and doctors fear she may lose the other.
Witnesses said the truck driver did not stop after the accident, but was pursued and caught by a lecturer who saw what happened.
The truck’s license plate was reportedly removed, and the vehicle is now in police custody.
Reacting, the company, in a statement, said that senior officials, alongside its insurance team, visited the accident site, met with law enforcement, and checked on the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
The management confirmed that Mrs. Otabor will receive full medical care and compensation in line with the company’s welfare policy.
Dangote Cement also expressed concern for her condition and extended wishes for her recovery.
However, responding to the statement, Phyna refuted the ‘Mrs’ title, questioning the narrative the Dangote group was attempting to start.
The reality TV star also faulted the company for turning their hospital visit into social media content and warned that no camera should be brought to any of their meetings.
She said, “Apppropriate compensation !!! quick recovery from an already amputated leg? What necessary speed are you taking right now ?
