Nigeria Is On The Verge Of Liquidation Under Tinubu’s Leadership

A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has accused President Bola Tinubu of leading Nigeria in the wrong direction.

Secondus added that President Tinubu is steering Nigeria’s economy towards liquidation.

Naija News reports the PDP chieftain made the submission on Wednesday while speaking in Abuja at the public presentation of two new books authored by veteran journalist and political communicator, Ike Abonyi, titled The Bubbles of Nigeria’s Democracy: The Musings of a Nigerian Journalist and Wadata Wonders: Memoirs of a Partisan Journalist.

He lamented that Nigeria’s current democratic structure is dysfunctional, with political parties lacking ideological coherence and institutional continuity.

He said: “We are still far from getting to a point where we can say we have democracy. We don’t have democracy in our country. What we have is a platform for winning an election.

“Our country is gradually moving in the wrong direction to a place where you can say Nigeria is on the verge of liquidation, presided over by Bola Tinubu. Everyone in the communities, the political parties, is supposed to be a chain of command from the wards and from the units.”

Comparing Nigeria with South Africa, Secondus stressed the need for Nigeria to build strong political institutions, describing South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC), as an unshakable institution.

He contrasted it with the situation in Nigeria where politicians frequently switch party allegiance without consequence, saying such actions erode democratic culture and stability.

“Until we establish proper democratic political parties where people can stay 30, 40, 50 years, build and reconstruct, the country will not move forward,” Secondus said.
