Super Falcon’s Nnadozie, Madugu Nominated for 2025 Ballon d’Or Awards [See Other Nominees]

Nigerian football stars Chiamaka Nnadozie and Justine Madugu have earned nominations for major categories at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.

Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Super Falcons goalkeeper, has been shortlisted for the Women’s Yachine Trophy, becoming the only African player on the list.

Her nomination follows an outstanding season in which she kept 17 clean sheets in 31 appearances across club and international competitions.

She won the Coupe de France with Paris FC, helped Nigeria win the WAFCON title, and earned the WAFCON Golden Glove. She also played a key role in Paris FC’s Champions League qualification and later secured a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has also been nominated for the Women’s Team Coach of the Year award. His leadership during the recent WAFCON campaign and her work in restructuring the Nigerian national team earned him a place among top international tacticians.
